Visiting mechanics will repair bikes at the Crownpoint Chapter House this Friday and Saturday

Visiting mechanics will help people fix their bikes at the Crownpoint Chapter House this Friday and Saturday, the chapter said.

The mechanics come from the Golden Colorado Optimists, and they will show people some basic maintenance tips and help them fix bikes that need repair, according to the flyer.

It is first come, first served, with a limit of 30 bikes total to be repaired. The hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 4 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 5.

Students may be in school on Friday, so parents, grandparents and other family members can drop off bikes and come back to pick them up after the repairs are done, the chapter said.

A limited number of gently used, well-repaired adult and kids bikes will also be given out on Saturday only, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The person getting the bike must be present, according to the flyer.
