Sheriff's deputies win the law enforcement 5k at Red Rock Park for a second year

The McKinley County Sheriff's Office took first place Saturday morning in the "Let's End DWI" law enforcement 5k at Red Rock Park. It is the second year in a row the sheriff's office has won the race.

The McKinley County Sheriff's Office won the "Let's End DWI" law enforcement 5k on Saturday morning at Red Rock Park.

It is the second year in a row the sheriff's office has taken first place. It thanked Jennifer Bates and her group for putting on the race.

The drunk driving the race is named for sits within conditions no single race addresses. McKinley County has a poverty rate roughly twice the state as a whole, and the off-reservation liquor retail serving a far larger region is concentrated in and around Gallup.
