By using Gallup Today, on the website or in our app, you agree to these terms. They exist to keep the platform useful and trustworthy for the whole community.

Accounts

You need an account to leave a guest-book message, claim a business listing, submit an obituary, or buy a placement. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you tell us and for anything posted from your account. You can delete your account at any time; our Privacy Policy explains exactly what that does and does not remove.

Community content

These terms cover everything a reader contributes: obituary submissions, guest-book condolences, business ownership claims, and listing reports. When you contribute, you agree to:

• Post accurate information, and correct it if you learn it's wrong.
• No harassment, hate speech, doxxing, or scams.
• Only government accounts may post official public-safety alerts.
• Commercial promotion belongs in a paid business placement, not the news feed.

We may decline, edit for accuracy, remove, or relocate content that violates these rules or the law.

Moderation

Guest-book condolences are held for our review before anyone else can see them. Obituaries publish immediately for verified funeral home and government accounts; everyone else's submission is confirmed with a phone call to the funeral home named in the notice, usually the same day, before it goes live. Business claims are confirmed with a phone call to the number you provide before a listing changes hands.

Obituaries

The basic death notice is free, always. By submitting an obituary you confirm you have the authority and consent to publish the information, including details about surviving family members. Optional keepsake fees are non-refundable once an obituary is published.

Business directory

Anyone, with or without an account, can report a listing as closed, incorrect, or a duplicate. Any contact information you include with a report is used only to follow up on it.

Advertising

Directory and sponsorship subscriptions renew monthly until canceled. You can cancel anytime; access continues through the paid period. Ad performance figures are provided in good faith for your own reporting.

Disclaimer

Gallup Today is provided "as is." While we work to keep alerts and news timely and accurate, always follow instructions from official emergency authorities during an emergency. We moderate community content in good faith but are not responsible for the accuracy of what a reader submits.

App store terms

If you downloaded our app from Apple's App Store, Apple's Standard End User License Agreement applies to your use of it: Apple's Standard EULA. Apple is not a party to these Terms, has no obligation to support the app, and is not responsible for its content. If you downloaded our app from Google Play, Google's own Terms of Service also apply to your use of the store.
