Crownpoint High will dedicate the Tim Rice Memorial Stadium during homecoming on Oct. 2, 2026, before the football game against Zuni.
The dedication is at 6:40 p.m. and kickoff is at 7 p.m.
The Class of 2026 is hosting the dedication to honor Rice's career, which included 37 years as an educator, coach, mentor and friend, according to the invitation. School administrators said they look forward to celebrating with Rice's family, and invited the public to the dedication and the alumni events.
Homecoming day also brings the March of the Legendary Letters, a parade of varsity jackets between third and fourth period sponsored by the CHS Student Ambassadors. Alumni are asked to dig out their letterman jackets.
This week, the Lady Eagles volleyball team hosts Bloomfield at 4 p.m. on Sept. 10, with no admission charged and fans asked to wear black. Cross country runs at Ramah with a 9 a.m. start Sept. 12; the bus leaves at 6:15 a.m. and returns at 6 p.m. Football hosts the Newcomb Skyhawks at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, with no admission.
