Gallup police put two shifts through firearms qualifications in the rain

Gallup police officers went through their firearms qualifications in the rain on Sept. 16, the department said. Captain Steven Collins and Lieutenant John Gonzales instructed Shifts 3 and 4 for the New Mexico DPS-mandated qualifications. The sessions covered movement, decision-making, manipulations and positional shooting for the patrol division.

Gallup police officers went through their firearms qualifications in the rain on Sept. 16, the department said.

The sessions covered movement, decision-making, manipulations and positional shooting for the patrol division.

Instructors and recruits helped with set up and cleanup, the department said.
