Crew A of the Gallup Fire Department put out a brush fire on Highway 491 after multiple 911 callers reported it burning behind a business. Crews found a transient camp fully involved and brush burning Tuesday morning, and knocked it down with an attack line and hand tools. No buildings were damaged and no injuries were reported.

Gallup firefighters put out a brush fire at a camp on Highway 491 after several people called 911 to report it burning behind a business.
Crew A of the Gallup Fire Department arrived Tuesday morning to find the transient camp fully involved, with brush burning alongside it, the department said. Crews ran an attack line and used hand tools to put the fire out.
No buildings were damaged and no injuries were reported, the department said.
