The Pinedale Chapter said on Wednesday morning that its phone lines are down and apologised for the inconvenience. The notice is two sentences long and gives no cause and no restoration time.

The chapter closed its chapter house on Tuesday because of what it called an outage in the area.

It has not named a utility.

No outage covering Pinedale appears in the City of Gallup's alert feed or in National Weather Service products for McKinley County. The city's water system does not serve Pinedale.

The Pinedale Chapter is one of the Navajo Nation's 110 chapters and runs its own office and programs under the 1998 Local Governance Act. The closure and the phone outage are the chapter's, not the Nation's.
