A new canopy now shades the upper south grandstand at Red Rock Park

McKinley County installed a canopy this spring over the upper section of the south grandstand at Red Rock Park. The county says it shaded spectators watching the rodeo events during this year's Gallup Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial. The county calls it one of several improvements it has made at the park since taking over management.

A canopy installed this spring over the grandstand at Red Rock Park has been giving spectators a place to get out of the sun, McKinley County said.

The cover sits over the upper section of the south grandstand and gives people a shaded place to watch events in the arena, according to the county.

During this year's Gallup Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial, the county said, the canopy provided shade for spectators taking in the rodeo events during the heat of the day.

The county described the canopy as one of several improvements it has made at Red Rock Park since taking over management of the park.
