The Navajo Nation Museum opens a Jack Ahasteen exhibit and an arts market during fair week
The 74th Annual Miss Navajo Nation Pageant holds its interview and talent competitions at the museum on Tuesday, Sept. 8 and Wednesday, Sept. 9, and crowns at 4 p.m. Saturday at the fairgrounds.

The Navajo Nation Museum has laid out a week of fair programming in Window Rock, Arizona, running from Tuesday through Saturday.
The 74th Annual Miss Navajo Nation Pageant is at the museum on Tuesday, Sept. 8 and Wednesday, Sept. 9. Tuesday has a business interview competition at 9 a.m. and a contemporary skills and talent competition at 1 p.m. Wednesday has a traditional knowledge interview competition at 9 a.m. and a traditional skills and talent competition at 1 p.m.
The pageant coronation is at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Navajo Nation Fairgrounds.
The Navajo Nation Museum Arts Market is open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10 and Friday, Sept. 11, with an added date from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12. The market is for shopping from Dine artists, and the museum gave 928-871-7941 for questions.
Intelligent Design, through the eyes and into the mind of a Dine Artist, opens at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the museum auditorium and hangs through Dec. 31. The museum called it a free event during fair week. Visitors can paint with Ahasteen and fellow artists from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday and from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday.
The 3rd Annual Navajo Nation Film Festival screens on Friday, Sept. 11 at Window Rock Cinema and at the museum. It is presented by Navajo Nation TV & Film, and the poster carries a code to scan for the screening schedule rather than a printed list of titles.
The museum said Bidii Chidi is on site selling food during the week.
