Highway 264 closures for the Navajo Nation Fair parade begin at 7 a.m. Saturday

Road closures for the 78th Annual Navajo Nation Fair Parade begin at 7 a.m. Saturday, an hour before the parade itself, the Navajo Police Department said.

The parade runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, and follows Highway 264 through Window Rock.

Eastbound traffic will be stopped where Highway 264 meets Route 54, by the NDOT turnoff. Northbound traffic will be stopped where Highway 264 meets Route 112, by the Window Rock Flea Market. Westbound traffic will be stopped at the St. Michaels intersection of Highway 264 and Route 112.

Personal and unauthorized ATV's, golf carts, motorcycles, dirt bikes and other non-street-legal vehicles are not permitted on or along the Highway 264 parade route, the department said, and unauthorized vehicles will be escorted off the highway.

Drivers are asked to follow traffic control directions and road closure signs and to watch for pedestrians. The department asked people at the parade and through the rest of the fair to report suspicious behavior to its Window Rock District at (928) 871-6111.
