Gallup offers a youth non-profit $1,225 to pick up trash
The city's Keep Gallup Clean & Beautiful Committee is looking for a local youth non-profit to run clean-ups for $1,225. The City of Gallup is offering $1,225 to a local youth non-profit willing to pick up trash around town.
The city's Keep Gallup Clean & Beautiful Committee said it is looking for a Gallup 501(c)(3) — a church, a sports group, a youth group, a club or a scouting troop — to take part in the FY27 New Mexico Clean and Beautiful youth clean-up program. Applications are due Sept. 30, 2026.
Young people taking part must be between 14 and 25 years old, and a group needs a minimum of eight to 10 participants working together with a responsible adult leader. The committee said places are first come, first served until the funding is used up.
The city gave a phone number for the program, (505) 863-1393, and pointed applicants to a web link that its post did not carry through.
