Housing Authority to weigh revised utility allowances for its tenants

The Gallup Housing Authority board of commissioners meets Sept. 18 to consider revised utility allowances for its public housing and Section 8 housing programs.

The agenda lists that as Resolution 09-18-26-A, a review and approval of the revised monthly utility allowances.

A second resolution would approve the write-off of delinquent tenant accounts.

Commissioners are also scheduled to hear reports on the Convalt Energy housing project, on maintenance management, on housing management, and an update on the homeownership project. The agenda lists no old business and no closed session.

Any citizen may make public comments to the board, and will be allowed 2 to 3 minutes. The notice says grievances by tenants, or against employees, must be processed through board approved policies and will not be heard directly by the board under the public comment period.

The notice gives two addresses for the same meeting. The agenda heads it at the Gallup Housing Authority conference room, at the 203 Debra Drive address on the authority's letterhead, while the legal notice underneath says the meeting will be conducted at 1602 S. 2nd St.
