Hari Achuthan, chief executive of Convalt Energy, is listed as the guest at the Gallup Business Improvement District board meeting Sept. 17, according to the board's agenda.
The topic is a proposed solar panel manufacturing facility to be located on GLP property. The meeting is at 3 p.m. at Rico Motors.
The district's work plan, attached to the agenda, says the federal government stopped payments from a grant awarded to gallupARTS to create the website for its WPA Virtual Museum project. That left gallupARTS $17,000 short of what it needed to finish.
The City of Gallup provided $10,000 toward that shortfall, and the district provided the remaining $7,000.
The board is also set to hear that Camille’s Cafe is rebranding as Midori Cafe. It will request a reimbursement from the district's sign grant program when the work is completed.
The agenda ends with a closed session on renewing the employment agreement of the district's executive director, Francis Bee.
