Gallup police list nine flooded streets and intersections during flash flood warning

The Gallup Police Department identified nine streets and intersections as completely flooded on Sept. 14, 2026, during a flash flood warning. Police urged the public to avoid driving in those areas and to exercise extreme caution.

The Gallup Police Department identified nine streets and intersections as completely flooded on Sept. 14, 2026, and urged the public to avoid driving in those areas.

The flooded streets and intersections police listed are South First Street and Highway 66; Ford and Highway 66 East; Aztec and Boardman Drive; N. 6th and Maloney Ave; Arnold and West Highway 66; Greet and First Street; Valley View and Aztec; 7th and Maloney; Burke and East Aztec.

Police shared the flash flood warning from McKinley County Emergency Alerts. It said radar indicated flash flooding caused by thunderstorms, affecting small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses, and other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Locations named in the warning include Gallup, Church Rock, Red Rock State Park, Allison, Gamerco, Mentmore and Red Rock. The warning also includes Interstate 40 between mile markers 13 and 30.
