Gallup police name their 2026 award recipients

The Gallup Police Department named its 2026 award recipients at its annual inspection on Aug. 3, the ceremony that traditionally opens Ceremonial Week for the department.

Acting Sgt. Alana Bradley was named Officer of the Year, and Detective Iris Pinero is Detective of the Year. Officer Jordan Gemme is Rookie of the Year.

The other honors: Talisa Benally, Civilian of the Year; Cole Jim, PSO of the Year; Officer Ryan Boucher, SWAT Operator of the Year; and Agents Lionel Desiderio and Timothy Hughte, Narcotics Agents of the Year, recognized for work against violent crime, gang activity and narcotics offenses.

Chief Erin Toadlena-Pablo and Deputy Chief Padavich inspected each officer and staff member, and Judge Griego reconfirmed the oaths of office for all sworn personnel. New Mexico State Police covered the city's calls for service during the ceremony.
