The McKinley County Sheriff's Office has fitted a patrol truck with a vehicle-mounted tire-deflation device, which it described as its latest technology to catch wanted fugitives.
A photograph the office posted shows the device's frame folded out ahead of the truck's front bumper on a rural two-lane road, with a deputy standing beside the vehicle.
The sheriff's office did not name the device, say when it entered service, or say what it cost.
