Gallup-McKinley County Schools sends every guardian an invitation to Rooms, its new classroom messaging platform

All guardians in Gallup-McKinley County Schools have been sent an invitation to Rooms, a two-way communication platform the district is rolling out for classroom messages.

The invitation arrives by text message or email. A guardian can open it through the link it contains, or open the GMCS App and select Rooms.

The first sign-in uses the email address or phone number that received the invitation. The district said a guardian will be sent a sign-in code and is then connected to Rooms. A guardian can also log in at Thrillshare.com with a phone number or email address and create a password.

Once connected, the district said, families can follow class announcements and updates, read and reply to messages from teachers and school staff, send questions directly, and keep the information for each of their children's classes in one place.

The rollout is still under way. Teachers are finishing their Rooms as the platform reaches more schools, the district said, and more will become available.
