Gallup police issue citations in a four-hour accessible-parking operation on the north side

The Gallup Police Department issued citations during a four-hour operation on accessible-parking violations in the northside business district on Sept. 16.

The department's recruiting team carried out the operation. Officers also spoke with drivers and community members about accessible-parking laws and about keeping the spaces available, the department said.

The department said it has listened to the concerns residents raised about enforcement on private property. It conducts operations in private parking lots, but enforcement is permitted only where the property owner has signed an agreement with the City.
