A fatal crash in Breadsprings closes State Road 602

On Aug. 27 a two-vehicle crash with fatalities closed State Road 602, according to the Navajo Police Department. The crash was at milepost 22.5, by Blue Medicine Well Road. One lane was open again within half an hour, and the scene was clear by 5:51 p.m.

Two vehicles crashed on State Road 602 with fatalities, the Navajo Police Department said in a traffic alert.

The crash was at milepost 22.5, by Blue Medicine Well Road, and the road was closed while first responders directed traffic, according to the alert, which went out at 2:32 p.m. on Aug. 27.

One lane was open to traffic by 2:59 p.m., and the scene was clear at 5:51 p.m., the department said.

Deputies from the McKinley County Sheriffs Office were on scene, and county fire and rescue crews were there as well. The Navajo Police Department Crownpoint District was en route, according to the alert.

The department did not say how many people died, whether anyone else was hurt, or what caused the crash, and it released no names.
