Crownpoint District sergeant among three Navajo Police officers honored by the Navajo Nation prosecutor's office

Sgt. Fred Peters, from Crownpoint District, is one of three Navajo Police officers to receive the 2026 Outstanding Justice Partner Award from the Navajo Nation Office of the Chief Prosecutor.

Sgt. Mylon Calamity, from Dilkon District, was also honored, as was Officer Kolby Begay, from Kayenta District, according to the Navajo Police Department.

Each year, the staff of the Office of the Prosecutor honors law enforcement officers whose dedication and service have made outstanding contributions to its legal community, the department said. It thanked the three for serving their communities with professionalism, courage and steady commitment.

Officer Begay and Sgt. Peters received their awards on the evening of Sept. 23 at the 3rd Annual Awards Banquet at the Twin Arrows Casino Resort. Sgt. Calamity was not in attendance to receive his award.
