A new artist-owned gallery and shop opens downtown on Sept. 12

The 1881 Artist Cooperative, which a flyer shared by gallupARTS calls downtown Gallup's newest artist-owned and operated gallery and shop, holds its grand opening on Sept. 12.

The opening runs from 5 to 9 p.m. at 204 E. Aztec Ave., with food, a community art collaboration, a silent auction, face painting and music.

The flyer gives the cooperative's founding year as 2026.
