Deleting your Gallup Today account
Last updated: August 6, 2026
Gallup Today is a free local news app and website for Gallup, New Mexico. You can delete your account, and the data attached to it, at any time. You do not need to contact us first, and you do not need a reason.
How to delete your account
In the Gallup Today app, on iPhone or Android:
- Open the Account tab.
- Choose Delete your account.
- Type DELETE to confirm.
On the website, at galluptoday.com: sign in, open your account page, and choose Delete your account. The same confirmation applies.
Deletion takes effect immediately and cannot be undone.
If you can no longer sign in
If you have lost access to your email or can no longer sign in, write to us from the contact page and choose Privacy. Tell us the email address the account used. We will verify what we can and delete the account for you.
What is deleted, and what is kept
- Your email, name, and login are removed.
- Obituaries you filed stay published, since the notice belongs to the family, but they are no longer linked to your account.
- Your guest-book messages are deleted.
- Business claims you filed are deleted.
- Listing reports you filed are kept, so staff can still act on them, but are no longer linked to your account.
- Receipts for anything you bought are kept, unlinked from you, because tax law requires it.
If you turned on safety alerts, that registration belongs to the device rather than to your account: turn alerts off in the app's account screen and the registration is deleted from our server right away, whether or not you delete your account. Our Privacy Policy explains everything we collect in full.
This describes what deleting a Gallup Today account actually does, in plain language. It is not legal advice; if you need it reviewed for a specific legal question, talk to your own counsel.
